Did You Know? The Meaning of R.E.D. Friday

VFW Post 2480 Website Team - 4/24/2026

As we observe Military Appreciation Month this May, you may notice a "Sea of Red" throughout our community and here at the Post. This tradition, known as R.E.D. Friday, stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.

Why We Wear Red:The goal is to provide a living, visual reminder that while we enjoy our freedoms at home, many of our brothers and sisters are stationed far away in harm's way. It is a simple but powerful way to show veterans and active-duty service members that they are never forgotten.

How to Participate at Post 2480:

  • Wear Red: Wear a red shirt, hat, or pin every Friday in May.

  • Stand in Solidarity: Visit the canteen on Fridays to show your support alongside fellow members .

  • Spread the Word: If someone asks why you're wearing red, share the mission of R.E.D.
