Commander Brian Haer
Greetings, Post 2480 Family and Port Clinton Neighbors!
Summer has officially arrived, bringing with it warmer days, a vibrant energy around the Post, and a profound sense of gratitude for the community we serve
First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest personal thanks to everyone who stepped up, volunteered, and joined us for our Memorial Day ceremonies. Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom is the core of our mission here at VFW Post 2480
As we look ahead, we are on the cusp of an extraordinary milestone. This July 4th, our nation celebrates its Semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Two and a half centuries of freedom is no small feat. It is a legacy built on the bravery of generations of service members, many of whom walked these very halls, who stood the watch to ensure the American experiment endured. This Independence Day isn’t just a holiday; it’s a historic opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate our enduring liberties, and renew our promise to preserve them. There is plenty of camaraderie and activity coming up at the Post to help beat the summer heat. Whether you are coming down to share an idea at our next meeting, enjoying a cool drink and good conversation in the canteen, or gathering with friends, our doors are open
Let's make this historic summer one to remember. Stay safe, look out for one another, and may God bless our veterans, our community, and the United States of America. Respectfully, Brian Haer Commander, VFW Post 2480
